Personal Best: Youth Leadership & Track Camp
Coaches are reminded that May 2nd is the deadline for filing applications for the Personal Best: Youth Leadership & Track Camp. All applicants must be recommended by their high school track coaches, and must be entering their sophomore, junior or senior year at an Oregon high school. Track & Field coaches can contact Eugene 08 project managers (info@eugene08.com) to obtain an application.
There will be two sessions of the camp held during the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field, June 27 – July 6 at Hayward Field. Each session lasts four days. Both male and female athletes will be selected to participate. Students selected for the camp will participate in a classroom curriculum that focuses on academic excellence, leadership, volunteerism, and mentorship. In addition, students will volunteer in Hayward Field working directly with world class athletes. The campers will be provided with apparel donated by Nike, and will receive food and housing in resident halls throughout the camp.
